Brian Harman and Marc Leishman are tied at 10-under through the first two rounds of the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui, Hawaii.
Harman shot a second straight 68 and Leishman a 69 after his opening-day 67.
World No. 1 Dustin Johnson also shot a 68 to rise to 9-under, one stroke off the lead.
Harman was just 1-under through 12, then birdied 13, 14 and 18 to rise into the lead. Leishman played a bogey-free round, with two birdies on the front nine and two more on the back.
Things didn’t look good for Johnson, who bogeyed 3 and 4 back to back and was 2-over through five. But he birdied three of the next four holes and four more on the back nine.
The round of the day came from world No. 2 Jordan Spieth, sho recorded a 7-under 66 to make up for his opening 75. He jumped 17 spots in the standings up to a tie for 13th at 5-under. He was shaky over the first six holes with three birdies and two bogeys, then closed the front nine with a birdie and an eagle. He added birdies on 10, 14 and 15 to complete the outstanding round.
Defending champion and world No. 3 Justin Thomas struggled to a 2-over 75 to plunge 15 places to a tie for 27th. Thomas was 1-under at the turn, then double-bogeyed 13 and 15 to give up four shots.
