Dustin Johnson made a 65-yard eagle and nearly added a hole-in-one while shooting a 7-under 66 to take command at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii on Saturday.
Johnson leads Brian Harman by two strokes entering the final round. Harman shot a 4-under 69 to sit at 14-under for the tournament. Spaniard Jon Rahm, the reigning European Tour Rookie of the Year also shot a 66 and is four strokes back at 12-under.
“I was looking just left of the flag, but short of the green,” Johnson said of his long eagle. “I knew once it got on the green that it was going to be pretty good. And obviously, it went in. So that was definitely a nice bonus.”
Johnson had just one bogey on the day, and scored his long eagle two holes later.
Seven players in all are at least 10 strokes under par, including Rickie Fowler, who shot a 5-under 68 to reach 11-under for the tournament
