Australia’s Marc Leishman put the petal to the medal on Sunday, firing a 67 to win the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa on Sunday.
Leishman was the only player to shoot under 70 in all four rounds, compiling a 19-under 68-68-66-67 – 269 to win by six strokes over Henrik Stenson (-13).
Stenson led Leishman by three strokes after two rounds, but gave away nine strokes over the weekend. Leishman was up one after 54 holes and still up one after 60 before birdying No. 7 while Stenson bogeyed it to push the lead to three.
Stenson got the lead back down to two through 12 holes, but Leishman turned on the jets, playing the last six holes at 3-under while Stenson was 1-over.
No other player finished within nine strokes of the lead as Chris Wood took third at 9-under.
