Eighteen of the best players in the world, including world No. 1 Jordan Spieth and Open Championship winner Zach Johnson, comprise the field at the Hero World Challenge, which begins Thursday at the Albany, New Providence community in The Bahamas.
The community itself is a joint venture of Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, and the Tavistock Group, with Els having designed the championship golf course.
Woods remains the host, even though he will not compete due to injury. Spieth is the defending champion, having routed the field with a 26-under 262 last year, easily the course record.
Johnson is also a former champion, winning in 2013.
