The PGA Tour returns to its most famous state, Georgia, for the RSM Classic this week organized by the Davis Love Foundation.
Returning champion Robert Streb will try to become the first player in the tournament’s brief history to defend his title. Streb shot a 14-under 266 to defeat Brendon de Jonge and Will MacKenzie in a playoff in 2014.
Streb memorably fired a 63 in the final round last year to force the playoff.
The most memorable pairing of the opening round will see Davis Love III paired with son Davis (Dru) Love IV, who earned the final sponsor’s exemption after winning an amateur qualifier. The two Loves will play alongside Justin Thomas, who recently won the CIMB Classic.
Last week’s OHL Classic Graeme McDowell is here as well, along with young Smylie Kaufman and Bill Haas.
Streb is paired with Tour veterans Brandt Snedeker and Matt Kuchar beginning on the back nine at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
