The Zurich Classic of New Orleans kicks off Thursday down on the bayou with an impressive cast of characters, including Billy Horschel, Jason Day, and Dustin Johnson on hand beginning Thursday at the TPC Louisiana.
The 250-acre course located in the Louisiana wetlands is a par-72, 7,425-yard design by Pete Dye in 2004. Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson served as the PGA Player consultants for the course.
Horschel won his first-ever PGA tournament here two years ago, and the field will also welcome Steve Stricker, out for only his second start of 2015 following back surgery.
Last year’s tournament was won by Noh Seung-yul of South Korea, who fired a 19-under 269. The tournament has been played under the Zurich Classic name since 2005, and former winners in this incarnation include Jason Dufner and Bubba Watson.
