The website GoFundMe, in which people can solicit monetary donations to achieve goals, projects, or almost anything else, has become a hot bed for amateur golfers trying to make it onto a professional tour.
Type “golf” into the website’s search engine and page after page pops up of amateur golfers and their families trying to raise money to play more tournaments in the hopes of making it onto a pro tour.
Some are inspiring, some are a bit bizarre – like the 8-year-old whose first name is Awesome (and who has a sister named Amazing), but all show that the dream of playing professional golf in the US touches people of all ages and walks of life.
