It’s not Buick or Pepsi, but Tiger Woods has added a new sponsor to his cadre of endorsements.
Woods announced a deal with Hero Motocorp, which makes two-wheel motorcycles and scooters, primarily in India, where 98% of its sales revenue comes from.
Woods turned 39 on Tuesday and is attempting a major for the first time since 2008.
In 2009, Woods’ cheating scandal cost him endorsements with Pepsi, AT&T, Gillette, Tag Heur, Electronic Arts, and Accenture.
Financial terms were not reported of the Hero deal, but speculation was in the $8 million/year range.
Woods ranked sixth in Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid athletes last June at $61.2 million.
