Golf with the most powerful man in the world in Hawaii on Christmas Eve might have seemed like a good idea for Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, but the folks back home didn’t agree.
While Razak was golfing on a Marine base course, came during a family vacation that unfortunately coincided with massive flooding in Malaysia that has killed five people and forced 118,000 to evacuate.
Razak cut short his vacation and is expected back in Malaysia on Saturday.
Malaysia citizens took to Twitter and Facebook to chastise their leader, while daily newspaper the Malaysia Chronicle was a little more direct, posting the headline:
“STOP PLAYING GOLF, NAJIB!”
No word on either politicians’ score.
