Rumblings abound that Dustin Johnson will return to the PGA Tour beginning with the Farmers Insurance Open next week, according to Golf World.
That tournament will be played February 5-8 at Torrey Pines. That date would fall after the impending birth of his first child by fiancee Paulina Gretzky.
However, it also would fit in with the duration of the rumored six-month suspension Johnson received from the PGA last fall for violating its substance abuse policy. This rumor was never confirmed.
Johnson has eight career tournament victories on the PGA tour. He was a leading candidate for the Ryder Cup and the FedEx Cup before his departure from the tour last fall.
