How good of a year is Rory McIlroy having?
He didn’t even have to play a hole in the Final Series to claim the Race to Dubai title.
Embroiled in a legal dispute with his former management company, and sporting an enormous lead in the points race, McIlroy locked up the Race to Dubai title by virtue of none of his closest competitors winning last week’s Turkish Airlines Open.
McIlroy, who is scheduled to play this weekend in Dubai, has a 2,726,514-point lead over No. 2 ranked Henrik Stenson. Since “only” 1,666,660 points go to the winner of the DP World Tour Championship, McIlroy cannot lose.
