Phil Mickelson has taken on an interim assistant coach job at his alma mater, Arizona State University.

Tim Mickelson, Phil’s brother, is the Sun Devils’ head golf coach. Tim took the head job at Alma Mater in 2011 after leading the University of San Diego to its first three NCAA appearances ever.

The Sun Devils made it to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2012-2013.

During Phil’s four years at the college, he won the NCAA championship three times and won 16 tournaments, or about one out of every three he played in. In 51 collegiate tournaments, he finished in the Top 10 43 times, including an 11-for-11 stint in the 1990-1991 season.
