Day 1 leader Patrick Reed slid back to a tie for sixth at 7-under after shooting an even-par 72. Reed was 2-under through 12 holes but had three bogeys between No. 13 and No. 18 to fall back.
Overall leader Tommy Fleetwood edged up to a tie for 11th at 6-under by firing a 65, a much-improved round from his Thursday 73. He had just one flub on the day , a bogey on No. 7, the same hole he eagled on Thursday. He had four birdies in the first six holes and four more between No. 18 and No. 18.
