The PGA Championship has the inherent advantage of being last of the four Majors every year; thus allowing it to do the coolest of pairings.
Thus, a group of Masters champ Sergio Garcia, US Open winner Brooks Koepka, and Open Championship winner Jordan Spieth will be touring the course together for the first two rounds at Quail Hollow next week.
Spieth will be followed en masse as he tries to become the youngest winner of the career Grand Slam ever. He picked up his Masters and US Open crowns in 2015 and added The Open Championship last month. The trio tee off at 8:25 a.m. Eastern on Thursday on No. 10.
It’s hardly the only premiere pairing of the tournament. Three past winners of the PGA Championship, Jimmy Walker, Phil Mickelson, and Jason Dufner are also a trio for the first two rounds. They tee off at 1:25 p.m. on the back nine on Monday.
There are two Top 11-exclusive pairings. No. 1 Dustin Johnson, No. 7 Jason Day, and No. 8 Henrik Stenson are on the course at 8:35 a.m. At 1:35 p.m., its No. 2 Rory McIlroy,
