Jordan Spieth’s win at The Open Championship saw him move up to No. 2 in the world, surpassing Hideki Matsuyama.
Dustin Johnson remains No. 1. Also in the top 10, US Open champion Brooks Koepka rose to No. 10 in the world after tying for fifth at The Open. He displaced Rickie Fowler, who slipped to 11th.
Matt Kuchar, who finished second to Spieth on Sunday, jumped from 18th to 12th. China’s Li Haotong, who finished third, jumped from 107th to 63rd. He was 134th to start the year.
FedEx Cup Standings
Jordan Spieth moved to the top of the leaderboard in the FedEx Cup standings with his win at the Open Championship. Spieth has 2,579 points thanks to three wins and 8 top 10 finishes. He surpassed Dustin Johnson, who is at 2,276 points. Each man has three wins this season.
Hideki Matsuyama is third with 2,204 points and Justin Thomas is fourth at 2,060 points. No other player is above 2,000 points.
