Tiger Woods’ latest comeback stalled this week when he announced he would miss the Honda Classic and the Genesis Open.
“My doctors have advised me not to play the next two weeks, to continue my treatment and to let my back calm down,” Woods said. “This is not what I was hoping for or expecting. I am extremely disappointed to miss the Genesis Open, a tournament that benefits my foundation, and The Honda Classic, my hometown event.”
Back spasms continue to be the culprit for Woods, who pulled out of the Omega Desert Classic after the first round on February 3.
Woods looked ready to return to the game he loves when he played well at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in December, but missed the cut by four strokes at the Farmers Insurance Open.
