Henrik Stenson remains the leader in the updated European Tour Race to Dubai standings after another strong finish at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic saw him reach 895,884 points.
He is one of only three players above 500,000 through the early part of the season. In second place is South Africa’s Branden Grace with765,255, followed by Dubai winner Danny Willett at 651,116.
Willett finished second to Rory McIlroy in last year’s final standings. McIlroy is currently 14th in points at 216,914, having played in just two qualifying events so far this year.
In the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup standings, Waste Management Phoenix Open winner Hideki Matsuyama leaped from 74th to 10th thanks to his victory, now sitting at 660 points through five events.
Both Kevin Kisner (1,073) and Brandt Snedeker (1,049) have surpassed 1,000 points, each through seven events.
Last year’s champion, Jordan Spieth, is 13th with 586 points in just two tournaments played.
