Twelve teams of two will go head to head in the 27th annual Franklin Templeton Shootout, which kicks off Thursday at the Tirburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, on Thursday.
Seven of those 24 players are ranked in the top 30, and two of them are defending Major champions – Zach Johnson and Jason Day.
Day and Cameron Tringale won the title last year and are paired together to defend their title. Among those out to break their streak are Harris English and Matt Kuchar, who won the event in 2013 and lost by a stroke last year.
All 12 teams are listed below:
Zach Johnson / Patrick Rodgers: It’s Rodgers’ first appearance here, but No. 4 for Johnson.
Graeme McDowell/Gary Woodland: Finished 5th last year.
Daniel Berger/Charley Hoffman: First time playing for both. Berger was the PGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year last year.
Billy Horschel / Hunter Mahan: Two fan favorites who are always circling the leaderboard.
Sean O’Hair/ Mike Weir: O’Hair won with Kenny Perry in 2012, Weir is one of six Major winners in the field.
J.B. Holmes / Patrick Reed: Former Presidents Cup teammates unite.
Retief Goosen/Danny Lee: The only international representation in the field.
Kenny Perry/Steve Stricker: Both have been here before, but not together. Perry has eight top-five finishes, and has won the event thrice.
Jason Dufner/Brandt Snedeker: Dufner has been a bit invisible on the course since winning the PGA Championship in 2013. Snedeker celebrates a birthday this week.
