Justin Thomas and Brendan Steele, two of the hottest players on the PGA Tour so far in the early season, are at it again.
Thomas, who fell off the lead early in the round, made birdies on 17 and 18 to get back even with Steele. Thomas had eight birdies and three bogeys to finish at 5-under.
Steele was far more consistent, shooting a bogey free, 6-under 66. The two men are tied for the lead, one stroke up on Kevin Na, last year’s champion, who torched the course to the tune of an 8-under 64 on Saturday.
It would be a good bounce back for Steele, who had the lead at the Frys.com Open two weeks ago but coughed it up with a closing-round 76.
