Nicolas Colsaerts, in desperate need of a late run to qualify for The Final Series, and Andy Sullivan, who’s already locked into a spot, share the lead at the Portugal Masters after each man shot a 7-under 64 on Thursday.
England’s Sullivan is 26th in the Race to Dubai standings and 66th in the world. Colsaerts is 100th in the standings, which qualify only the top 60 for the post-season run of tournaments.
Colsaerts did the majority of his damage with a pair of eagles – on No. 5 and No. 17, and a stretch of four birdies in five holes on 11-15.
Sullivan was all about the birdies, notching six in his first 12 holes and adding two more on 15 and 17 sandwiched around his lone bogey of the day.
Four other players are tied for second at 6-under, including South Africa’s Thomas Aiken, who sits just two spots out of the Dubai field at No. 62.
