Forty-year-old Soren Kjeldsen tied 21-year-old Matthew Fitzpatrick atop the leaderboard of the British Masters on Friday by firing a 68 to reach 9-under through two rounds.
Fizpatrick shot a 69 after opening with a 64.
Kjeldsen is after his second title of the year and the fifth of his career. He’s played 506 European Tour events; Fitzpatrick just 33.
Kjeldsen is in the hunt for his fourth top 10 finish of the year. He won the Rory McIlroy-hosted Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in July.
Fitzpatrick was not sharp early on, just even par on the first nine holes before rounding into form on the back nine.
