TV Broadcaster Rolfing Has Cancer

Mark Rolfing, who covers professional golf for NBC and the Golf Channel, announced he has salivary gland cancer and will not be on either network’s golf coverage for the rest of the year.

Three weeks ago, Rolfing had surgery to remove a malignant growth from his left cheek. He is starting a second phase of treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

A resident of Hawaii, Rolfing said his doctors are confident that his cancer will be cured with the upcoming treatment, and he will be able to rejoin the broadcast team in January for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
