Arguably the most exciting four-week stretch of the PGA Tour begins this week with The Barclays, the 125-man first leg of the FedEx Cup Championship.
This year’s tournament is being played at Plainfield Country Club
World No. 1 and current FedEx Cup leader Jordan Spieth will tee off on the back nine at 8:26 a.m.
A little more than an hour prior to that, the field’s most surprising entry tees off on the back nine – Davis Love III, who is grouped with Hunter Mahan and Scott Pinckney.
Love was 186th in the rankings a week ago, but by virtue of winning the Wyndham Championship last week at age 51, vaulted to No. 76 with 649 points.
Other notable start times include:
- Phil Mickelson, No. 10, 7:53 a.m.
- Dustin Johnson, No. 10, 8:15 a.m.
- Jim Furyk, No. 1, 12:44 p.m.
- Zach Johnson, No. 1, 12:55 p.m.
- Jimmy Walker, Justin Rose, No. 1, 1:06 p.m.
