With Jason Day’s first Major win securely tucked away, the PGA Tour returns to business as usual on Thursday with the start of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This is the 76th installment of the tournament, and the eighth straight since the move back to Sedgefield in 2008.
Camilo Villegas is the defending champion, joining such past luminaries as Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia, Davis Love III, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Billy Casper, and Ben Hogan.
The course was designed by Donald Ross, the last of his still active as a PGA event. It saves its best (or perhaps worst) hole for last, a 507-yard par-4 that has a downward sloping fairway and a severely undulating hilltop green. Birdies are few and far between.
