Watson has 1,688 points, 227 behind second-place Jimmy Walker, but a whopping 1,440 behind Jordan Spieth. Dustin Johnson (1,589 points) and Rory McIlroy (1,510 points) round out the top 5.
Paul Casey, who Watson defeated in a playoff on Sunday, jumped from 33rd to 16th in the rankings. Brian Harman, who finished third by a stroke, climbed from 96th to 63rd.
The top 125 players at the end of the regular season qualify for the four-tournament post-season, culminating in the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. The overall winner is awarded $10 million.
