Seven of the top 15 finishers from last week’s US Open move on to Cromwell, Connecticut, beginning on Thursday for the Travelers Championship.
The tournament is being held at the TPC at River Highlands, and Kevin Streelman is out to defend the crown he won in 2014, shooting 15-under.
The event has been dominated by Americans, who have won 16 of the last 18 championships. The TPC River Highlands has hosted the Travelers since 1984, and is a par-70 course that is 6,841 yards long.
Patrick Cantlay fired a course-record 60 here in 2011. Cantlay was a 19-year-old amateur at the time.
Three men who at one point held the lead at the US Open are paired together for a 1:05 p.m. tee time Thursday – Patrick Reed, Branden Grace, and Louis Oosthuizen. Oosthuizen wound up tied for second with Grace fourth.
Streelman is paired with Sergio Garcia and Keegan Bradley. He beat Garcia by a stroke last year.
Bubba Watson plays at 1:15 p.m. Thursday with Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson, while Brandt Snedeker, Billy Horschel, and Ernie Els are set to go at 8 a.m.
