Why yes, those were bacon-themed pants, and Mark Calcavecchia just made them into a miniature fashion statement.
The 13-time PGA Tour winner added his third win on the Champions Tour Sunday, a one-stroke victory at the Principal Charity Classic by one stroke over Joe Durant and Brian Henninger.
His final-round 69 provided the margin of victory, but he still had to sweat out a long birdie putt by Durant that would have forced a playoff.
After taking in the Indianapolis 500, Calcavecchia went to a bacon festival and got the pants, which he wore Sunday, and played with a putter he bought at a local outlet.
It’s his first win since his gruesome hand injury last year that made him take 10 weeks to recover.
