Kjeldsen Joins Dubai Top 20

His big win at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open upjumped Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen into the top 20 of the Race to Dubai standings released on Monday.

Through 13 tournaments played, Kjeldsen has 586,444 points. Irish Open runner-up Bernd Wiesberger rose to fifth in the standings, the fifth man to break 1 million points for the year, now with 1,003,339. He is 34,000 points behind fourth-place Justin Rose.

Eddie Pepperell, who tied Wiesberger for second, rose to 35th. He has 384,382 points through 10 events played on tour.

By finishing in the Top 10 at the Irish Open, Danny Willett took a big bite out of Rory McIlroy’s overall lead. McIlroy lead by more than 1 million points last week, but Willett cut it down to 841,513 on Sunday.

The man currently in the hot seat – No. 60 – is Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal, with 234,488 points in 11 events.
