Rory McIlroy rose from 103rd to 19th in the latest FedEx Cup rankings thanks to his win at the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championships on Sunday.
The top 125 players in the final standings qualify for the FedEx Cup four-tournament post-season event in the fall.
McIlroy has 846 FedEx Cup points despite playing in just five PGA events so far this year. He leads the European Tour’s equivalent of the FedEx Cup – the Race to Dubai – by a substantial margin.
Also on the move this week was Match Play semifinalist Jim Furyk, who rose from 22nd to 16th.
Jordan Spieth is the current leader with 2,118 points in 12 events, maintaining a lead of 425 over Jimmy Walker.
