If Tiger Woods was going to play a tournament before the Masters, the odds were pretty solidly on Bay Hill, where he has won eight times previous.
Apparently Woods doesn’t believe the Arnold Palmer Invitational is the right place to come back, as he announced via Twitter that he would not compete at the tournament he won in both 2012 and 2013.
Once Bay Hill is done, there are just two tournaments left before The Masters – the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio and the Shell Houston Open. Woods hasn’t played at Valero since 1996 and has never played in Houston. If he doesn’t compete in either one but does play The Masters, he’ll do so having played a meager 47 holes this year, and none since February 5, already six weeks ago.
