Here’s a look at golfers celebrating birthdays on February 10.
Australian Bradley Hughes turns 48. Hughes holds the Australian masters record of 24-under par (268) set in 1998, and the largest winning margin on the Asian Omega Tour – 12 strokes at the Players Championship in 1996. His best Major finish was tied for 16th at the 1997 US Open.
Hall-of-Famer Greg Norman, who who spent 331 weeks ranked No. 1 in the world and won 90 professional tournaments, including two Majors, turns 60. His first Major came in fierce conditions at The Open Championship in 1986, where he finished at even par (74-63-74-69 – 280), five strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. His second-round 63 was the best round of the tournament by four strokes. Seven years later, he made it two titles with a 2-stroke win over Nick Faldo, the defending champion, finishing 13-under with a pulse-racing final-round 64. He finished second or tied for second at seven other Majors.
Japan’s Toru Taniguchi turns 47. He has 19 wins on the Japan Golf Tour, the 10th-most all-time. He reached the Top 30 in the golf rankings in 2007 and 2008.
