Caddies Suing PGA Over Lack of Compensation

Several PGA Tour caddies, led by Mike Hicks and Kenny Harms, have filed a class-action lawsuit against the Tour for making them wear bibs with corporate advertising on them.

Eighty caddies in all filed the federal suit, which alleges caddies are required to wear the advertising apparel, but are not compensated from it, in addition to allegations that they are denied access to health care and pension plans.

In theory, the lawsuit would include some 1,000 students and cost the PGA hundreds of millions of dollars.

Eugene Egdorf is the caddies’ lead attorney. He told Golf.com that “the PGA Tour and its sponsors have received literally hundreds of millions of dollars in value from endorsements from the bibs the caddies are forced to wear without any compensation whatsoever.”
