Jim Furyk Wins Contest During NFL Game

With the PGA and European Tours officially on hiatus until 2015 rolls around on the calendar, a few pros took time out for a unique competition Thursday night.

Jim Furyk, Harris English, and Brandt Snedeker competed in a contest in which players fired drives off the upper deck of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ stadium, attempting to come closest to a pin set up at the 50-yard line, several hundred feet below.

The NFL Network’s Rich Eisen and Marshall Faulk competed in the challenge, as did the Jaguars’ mascot, who did incredibly well.

The competition involving the mascot, terribly named Jaxon DeVille (get it!) has been going on all season. He even beat Furyk earlier in the season, while losing to the likes of Billy Horschel and Matt Kuchar.

If the pro wins, the Jaguars donate $10,000 to a charity of that player’s choice. When the Jaguar has won, the Jaguars donate $1,000 to charity, and give every fan in the stadium a coupon for free Papa John’s cheese sticks.

A hole-in-one by either competitor gets a pre-selected fan $1 million.
