American Billy Hurley rocketed six birdies in his first nine holes to jump to the top of the leaderboard with a 5-under 67 on Friday in Kuala Lumpur at the CIMB Classic.
Hurley is 10-under through 36 holes, two shots better than fellow American Kevin Streelman.
It’s hard not to like Hurley, who is a former lieutenant in the US Navy, seeking his first PGA victory.
Lurking three shots back are Sergio Garcia, Ryan Moore, Kevin Na, and Lee Westwood.
