Luiten, playing barely an hour from his hometown of Beliswijk, is the leader in the clubhouse at the KLM Open in Zandvoort, The Netherlands, on Thursday after play was suspended late in the day because of darkness.

Luiten shot a 5-under 65, overcoming a bogey on No. 1 with a series of birdie, eagle, birdie on 6-8. Scotland’s Jamie McLeary is also at 5-under, but came off the course with two holes to play yet.

About one-third of the 152 men in the field have rounds to complete before the second 18 gets underway on Friday.
