In the end it was a cake-walk – despite a Sergio Garcia fightback – as Rory McIlroy walked off with the best prize in golf at the Open championship.
It must have been sweet for the Irishman and his clubmakers, Nike, after loads of questions were asked about whether the switch from Titleist was one of the reasons for McIlroy’s poor form after moving to ‘the swoosh’.
