The Race to Dubai has turned into just that in the battle to finish first. With his win at the Scottish Open on Sunday, Englishman Justin Rose vaulted into seventh place in the standings, having racked up €1,153,622 despite playing just seven events on the year.
Rose is one of 11 players who have breached the €1 million mark this year in earnings. Just €420,000 separates No. 7 Rose from No. 1 Thomas Bjorn.
The biggest change in the standings came courtesy Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg, who was runner-up to Rose at Aberdeen. Starting the tournament at the No. 61 spot in the standings where the top 60 men qualify, Broberg surged to 20th with his big finish.
The new No. 61 is France’s Julien Quesne, who trails the current No. 60, South Africa’s Hennie Otto, by all of €3,110.
