ClubstoHire.com, the award-winning golf club rental company, celebrated its 125,000th customer with a special presentation by brand ambassador Paul McGinley to landmark golfer Barbara McGuinness at Royal Dublin Golf Club.
McGuinness had just finished playing in a ClubstoHire golf day marking McGinley becoming European captain for the Ryder Cup when she was surprised by her fellow Dubliner with a brand new set of TaylorMade golf clubs and a bag.
“Meeting the European Ryder Cup captain and personally receiving a new set of clubs from him was an unbelievable experience,” said Barbara, who became the 125,000th customer to have booked a set of clubs through ClubtoHire when she visited Faro, Portugal, a month earlier.
“I love traveling to play golf and after booking my Portugal trip through ClubstoHire, I can safely say I will be using the service again because of how easy and cost-effective the whole process was from start to finish.”
ClubstoHire CEO Tony Judge commented: “It was fitting that Barbara became our 125,000th customer at Faro, where ClubstoHire set up its very first rental shop with the help of Paul McGinley back in 2010.
“The company has grown significantly since then by adding 20 other locations that are helping golfers book trips to some of the best golfing destinations across Europe and Africa.”
ClubstoHire.com – which has saved golfers an estimated €4m in airline baggage charges over the last four years – was recently declared the winner of the ‘HSBC Golf Business Community Award for Innovation’ at The HSBC Golf Business Forum in Abu Dhabi. Last year, the company supplied a record 40,000 travelling golfers with sets of clubs from leading brands TaylorMade, Callaway, Wilson Staff, Mizuno and MD Golf for as little as €35 per week.
