Not many 22 year olds win on the PGA Tour. Even fewer do it when the double-bogey a hole on the back nine on Sunday.
Justin Thomas did both, using a 6-foot par putt on No. 18 to edge former world No. 1 Adam Scott by one stroke and win the CIMB Classic on Sunday in Malaysia.
After the disastrous double-bogey into the water on No. 14, Thomas fired three straight birdies to take back the lead. He went into the 18th needing a par and landed in the bunker, blasted out to 20 feet away, then two-putted for the win.
Thomas finished a whopping 26 under par to secure $1.3 million. Scott was -25, followed by Kevin Na and Brandon Steele at 24-under.
Rose fired a final-day 63 to make things interesting, with seven birdies and an eagle.
