Much like his 15th Major, love continues to elude Tiger Woods.
The all-time great and three-year girlfriend Lindsey Vonn officially broke up on Sunday via the only way to properly do such a thing – Facebook.
“After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship,” the 30-year-old Vonn posted on her social media page.
“I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect him.”
Woods had a similar message on his official website, along with a picture of he and Vonn at the par-3 contest in front of The Masters last month.
“Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating. I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”
Woods, who will turn 40 at year’s end, is 10 years older than Vonn. She was his first public relationship since his divorce from Elin Nordegren, who he married in 2004. In 2009, revelations of multiple affairs by Woods led to their 2010 divorce.
