Jordan Spieth New World No. 2

After finishing second at The Masters in 2014, the only way Jordan Spieth could move up in this week’s Official World Golf Rankings was to win the tournament.

So that’s what he did.

Spieth took over the No. 2 spot in the latest rankings, jumping both Bubba Watson and Henrik Stenson in the process. Rory McIlroy, who finished fourth at Augusta National on Sunday, remains No. 1.

Spieth’s climb up the rankings is phenomenal. He was ninth to start the year.  Dustin Johnson, who finished int he Top 10, climbed one spot from seventh to sixth, and Justin Rose, who tied Phil Mickelson for second, rose from 11th back into the Top 10 at No. 8.

Mickelson moved from 22nd up to 18th. Tiger Woods, who finished tied for 17th, moved up 10 spots from 111th to 101st.
