Legendary swing coach Butch Harmon made no bones about why Tiger Woods is unlikely to reach out to his old teacher for his help with his current woes.
“If he wantd, I’d be more than happy to spend a couple of hours and give my opinion,” Harmon said in a recent interview. “I don’t think he would ask because it goes against his pride.”
Harmon helped Woods with his swing between 1996-2002, a time in which Woods won 11 Majors in 11 appearances.
“If I was him, I wouldn’t play until I’m healthy,” Harmon said. “I know you say you need the tournament reps and all that. Not necessarily. For him, the big thing is the Masters. We know he knows how to play.”
The 71-year-old Harmon, now only a part-time instructor, is considered one of the game’s top teachers.
