It’s a tough couple of days for golf birthdays. Either you’re deemed unlucky for having one fall on Friday the 13th, or largely ignored because it’s the same day as Valentine’s Day. Here’s a look at some of the candle-lighters for February 13-15.
February 14
Clark Dennis, who finished tied for sixth at the 1994 US Open, turns 49. Dennis played in six Majors between 1988 and 2001, missing four cuts, tying for 43rd once, and having the amazing run in 1994. He started the tournament by shooting even par to be part of a 13-way tie for 10th and shot a 71-71-70-71 – 283 overall to finish 1-under, tied with Greg Norman and Tom Watson.
February 15
Three-time PGA winner Cameron Beckman turns 45. His first win was at the 2001 Southern Farm Bureau Classic, and he followed it with the Frys.com Open n 2008 and the Mayakoba Golf Classic in 2010. He has made the cut of just one Major in his career, tying for 53rd at the 2002 PGA Championship.
