To no one’s surprise, Anirban Lahiri and Bernd Wiesberger joined the Race to Dubai’s Top 10 list after finishing first and second at the Maybank Malaysian Open on Sunday.
Wiesberger, who fell apart down the stretch and finished one stroke back of the lead, is now fifth in the standings, and has been fantastic throughout the Middle Eastern swing of the Euro Tour season – finishing tied for sixth, third, tied for fourth, and second in his last four events.
Lahiri won his first-ever Euro title on Sunday to jump to seventh in the standings. He has 449,139 points (equivalent of prize money won in Euro Tour events this year).
England’s Danny Willett continues to lead the race in the early stages with 971,413 points. Willett won the Nedbank Golf Challenge in December, which has been the biggest prize payout so far this year, earning him 864,975 points.
Last year’s Race to Dubai winner, Rory McIlroy, is fourth in this year’s standings to date, despite having only played two events.
