New Zealand’s Mark Brown turns 40. Brown plays on the PGA Tour of Australasia, the Web.com Tour and the European Tour and has three professional wins, including the 2008 Johnnie Walker Classic.
Former PGA Tour member Paul Claxton turns 47. Still active on the Nationwide Tour, Claxton was the first player to accrue more than $1 million in prize money on it. He has two Web.com Tour wins in his career, and finished tied for 23rd at the 2005 US Open.
Commentator Matt Gogel turns 44. sandy As a player, Gogel won the 2002 Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and finished tied for 12th at the 2001 US Open. He also has six Web.com Tour wins to his name.
Hall of Famer Sandy Lyle turns 57. The Scot won two Majors in his career, 18 European Tour events, and 29 tournaments overall. His first was the 1985 British Open, which he won by a single stroke over Payne Stewart. Trailing David Graham and Bernhard Langer by three strokes entering the final round, he fired a 70 to win the tournament. Three years later, he began the first Briton to win The Masters, birdying the final hole after making a remarkable second shot from the bunker that is still part of Augusta lore three decades later.
