Jimmy Walker is back in familiar territory this Monday, atop the FedExCup standings.
Walker’s win at the Sony Open on Sunday saw him jump from eighth to first in the most recent standings, which dictate where players are seeded for the lucrative post-season chain of tournaments.
Walker has racked up 957 points in five events this season, with one win and three Top 10 finishes.
In 2014, Walker started the year with three wins in his first eight events, and led the standings until August, when Rory McIlroy took over by winning three straight tournaments, including The Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
Walker wound up finishing second to McIlroy with 2,493 points. McIlory had 2,582.
Of no surprise, the seven men who have won a tournament so far in the 2014-2015 occupy the top seven spots in the rankings, which are updated every time an official PGA event takes place.
