The PGA delivered a stern message to third-year pro Bhavik Patel on Wednesday.
See you next year.
The 24-year-old Patel, a third-year-pro, was suspended by the PGA for the rest of this season after violating golf’s anti-doping policy.
Patel fessed up to the allegations in a prepared statement.
“In an effort to overcome an injury, I made a lapse of judgment,” Patel said. “I regret my decision but have learned from the experience and look forward to returning to competition.”
Patel is the second player to be suspended from the PGA Tour for violating its doping stance, joining Doug Barron, who violated in 2009 with testosterone and a beta-blocker.
No word yet as to the exact substance Patel used. He has never played on a PGA event, joining the web.com Tour after leaving Fresno State.
