Jordan Spieth is a boy among men, and a man among boys through two rounds of the Hero World Challenge in Florida.
Spieth, whose round was cut short after 17 holes on Friday, dropped to 11-under for the tournament, the best mark in the short history of the event through 36 holes.
Spieth overcame a double bogey on No. 6 thanks to a stretch of five birdies in seven holes on the back nine.
Good as he was on Friday, Spieth was a distant second to the red-hot Patrick Reed, who fired a 9-under 63 to move into a tie for third alongside Justin Rose at 8-under.
Reed birdied his first three holes, and added an eagle on the par-5 No. 7 to hit the turn at 7-under. His only misfire was a bogey on No. 12.
Henrik Stenson is second behind Spieth at 9-under following a 4-under 68 on Friday.
While Tiger Woods was much better on Friday than Thursday, shooting a 2-under 70, he is still in last place, at 3-over.
