Rain Makes Levy Portugal Masters Champion

We’ll never know what could have been for Alexander Levy at the Portugal Masters – but what was through two rounds will have to be enough.

Bad weather cut short the already-abbreviated tournament on Sunday, with the results after 36 holes made official and Levy coming away with the title with his 63-61 – 124.

Levy and runner-up Nicolas Colsaerts teed off and each parred the first hole before the rains came yet again, ultimately washing out the rather doomed tournament.

With the win, Levy cracked €1 million for the year in European Tour earnings, jumping from 28th to 19th in the Race to Dubai standings.

It’s Levy’s second European Tour championship; making him the first Frenchman to win two Euro Tour titles in the same season.
