Rory McIlroy Opens as 5-to-1 Favorite for 2015 Masters

It makes perfect sense that oddsmakers are already buzzing about the 2015 Masters – after all, it’s merely 235 days away.

But that’s what you get when you have a player in the field who will be trying to win a third straight Major title, as Rory McIlroy will do next April at Augusta National.

Seeking to capitalize on the ga-ga reaction to McIlroy of late, oddsmakers have installed him as a staggering 5-to-1 favorite to win the Masters in 2015, which would complete his career Grand Slam.

The odds, courtesy of the LVH Super Book, also have Tiger Woods as a 12-to-1 favorite, despite Woods ailing from a back injury and having not played anything close to championship level golf throughout 2014.

Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson are both 15-to-1, with the quartet of Bubba Watson, the defending champion, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth all at 20-to-1. “The Field” – any player not listed among the 100 or so on the website, is also a 15-to-1 bet at this point.
